CRCA Tabs 15 Lady Vols to National Scholar-Athletes List
June 18, 2025 | Rowing
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee rowing program has earned 15 CRCA National Scholar-Athlete recognitions for its success in the classroom, the organization announced.
Of Tennessee's 15 award recipients, four competed in the Lady Vols' First Eight crew at the NCAA Championships, while five were positioned in the Second Eight boat and two more raced in the Four boat for the postseason event.
This year marks the fifth consecutive season in which Tennessee has had at least nine members of its team earn CRCA National Scholar-Athlete honors, and the third time in the last five years that 15-plus Lady Vols garnered the recognition.
In order to qualify for the honor, student-athletes needed to maintain a 3.5 GPA or higher, be of at least sophomore standing academically and row in an NCAA-eligible boat or for a minimum of 75 percent of the season's races.
As a team this spring, Tennessee rowing collectively posted a 3.39 GPA.
