2025 TRACK & FIELD
Outdoor- Claimed first place at the Tennessee Invite (4/5) in the 4x100m relay with a time of 44.46 seconds
- Competed at the NCAA Indoor Championships (3/14), finishing fifth in the 60mH and ninth in the 60m to earn her first and second team recognition
- Placed second in the 60m Hurdles (7.98) at the SEC Indoor Championships (3/1)
- Ran her first 60-meter dash as a Lady Vol at the Tiger Paw Invitational (2/14) and clocked a PR of 7.28 to win her preliminary heat
- Notched a lifetime-best of 8.04 seconds to win the women's 60-meter hurdles final at the Razorback Invite (2/1), ranking third on the program's all-time list
- Opened her 2025 campaign with a second-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles at the McFerrin 12 Degree Invitational (1/10), running a mark of 8.23 in the final
2024 TRACK & FIELD
Outdoor- Competed at eight meets for the Lady Vols during her first outdoor season on Rocky Top, including qualifying for the NCAA East Prelims in the 100-meter hurdles
- Logged her lifetime-best in 100mH with a time of 13.23 (+1.4 m/s) at the USC Outdoor Open (4/20), ranking as the No. 8 performer in school history
- Made her Tennessee Invite debut with a third-place finish in the 200-meter (23.90) while also posting the fastest mark in the 100mH prelims (13.51)
- Recorded her outdoor PR in the 200-meter dash in her season opener at the UCF Black & Gold Invite (3/16) with a time of 23.65 (+1.1 m/s)
- Competed at six meets during her first indoor season with the Lady Vols and rose to No. 3 on the program's all-time charts in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.06
- Made her NCAA Indoor Championship (3/8) debut in the 60-meter hurdles and placed 13th in the semifinal with a time of 8.19 to collect Second Team All-America honors
- Finished eighth in the 60-meter hurdles at her first SEC Indoor Championships (2/24), recording a time of 8.17 in the final
- Took third in the 60-meter hurdles final at the Tiger Paw Invitational (2/9), clocking in at 8.07
- Set a new PR in the 200-meter dash at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic (2/2) with a time of 23.69, placing fourth overall

PRIOR TO TENNESSEE
- Spent two seasons at Virginia Tech before joining the Lady Vols as a transfer in the fall of 2023
- Did not compete during the 2023 outdoor season and wrapped her sophomore indoor campaign with a fifth-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles at the ACC Indoor Championships, turning in a time of 8.27
- Clocked lifetime-best marks in the 200-meter (23.81) and 60-meter hurdles (8.13) at the 2023 Clemson Tiger Paw Invitational
- Ran a PR of 7.47 in the 60-meter dash at the 2023 PNC Lenny Lyles Invite to place fourth in the final
- Concluded her freshman outdoor season with a pair of podium finishes at the Liberty Twilight Qualifier in May 2022, placing first in the 200-meter (23.67w) and second in the 100-meter hurdles (13.83w)
- Earned All-ACC honors as a rookie in the 60-meter hurdles, placing sixth in the conference championship final with a time of 8.40
HIGH SCHOOL
- Seven-time state champion in VHSL Class 4A for Churchland High School in Portsmouth, Virginia
- Claimed a pair of indoor state titles her junior year in the 55-meter dash (7.11) and 55-meter hurdles (8.26)
- Ran a personal-best 7.06 in the 55-meter dash at the 2020 VA Showcase, which ranked fourth in the state of Virginia and 17th nationally
- Finished third in the Emerging Elite category of the 100-meter dash at the 2019 New Balance Outdoor Nationals as a sophomore, running a lifetime-best mark of 11.85
- Added a trio of state championships to her trophy case in 2019, winning the VHSL 4A 100-meter, 200-meter and 100-meter hurdles
- Earned her first two state championships at the indoor VHSL 4A State Championships, winning the 55-meter and 300-meter for Churchland HS

- Enjoys reading books in her spare time
- Layla's mother, Venus, ran track at Hampton University and her Aunt Lisa ran track at Lofton-Myers - University of Arkansas
- She lists Naomi Osaka as her biggest sports influence. Stating, "She is very emotional vulnerable when it comes to competing in her sport. I love the fact that she is very open with her feelings, despite the adversity she faces. I wish she would be kinder to herself, because she is so talented and smart."

- Favorite meal is a McDonald’s 6 piece chicken nuggets, medium fry, large Coke, and ice cream cone with an apple pie
