Kristina Klemenz joined the University of Tennessee Sports Medicine Staff as an Assistant Athletic Trainer in August of 2025 for the Vol and Lady Vol Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving programs.
She comes to Knoxville after spending a year at Florida State University as an Assistant Athletic Trainer working with their Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving programs. Prior to FSU, she spent 3 years at Arizona State University as an Assistant Athletic Trainer with their Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving programs. During her time at ASU, the Men’s program won back-to-back Pac-12 Championships (23’, 24’), along with their first National Championship in 2024. In June of 2024, she traveled with ASU to Indianapolis for USA Swimming Olympic Trials, where she provided medical coverage and care for her collegiate and professional athletes.
A native of North Haven, Connecticut, Kristina earned her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Sacred Heart University in 2019. Afterwards, she went on to get her Master of Arts in Sports Management with a specialization in Athletic Administration and Compliance from Wingate University, where she served as a Graduate Assistant from 2019 to 2021.
She is a certified and licensed Athletic Trainer, a Certified Corrective Exercise Specialist, and holds a certification in Owens Recovery Science Personalized Blood Flow Restriction. She is a current member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and USA Swimming.
