Shattered UT record in 1650 freestyle record at SEC championships with fourth place 14:59.50 ... First Vol to swim 1650 freestyle in less than 15 minutes ... Started season with a win in the 500 freestyle against Louisville ... Finished second in 1000 freestyle against Georgia ... Won 500 freestyle against Georgia ... In the Vols[apos] win over Auburn, earned SEC Freshman Swimmer of the Week award by winning the 500 and 1000 freestyles in times of 4:29.12 and 9:16.06, respectively ... His 500 freestyle time against Auburn was a season best ... Won the 400 I.M. (3:57.34) against Virginia and placed second in the 1650 freestyle (9:16.71).. Placed 15th in 400-meter freestyle at 2008 U.S. Olympic Trials HIGH SCHOOL
