Bobby Merritt

- Bobby Merritt joins the Tennessee Volunteers Football Program in 2015 as the director of recruiting.
- Merritt previously spent the 2007-14 seasons as a college scout for the National Football League's Houston Texans, covering the Midwest region of the United States.
- Prior to joining the Texans, Merritt spent four seasons with the Detroit Lions, beginning as an intern in 2003 and advancing to a scouting assistant in 2004. During the 2005 season, he later became the Lions' BLESTO scout.
- Merritt is a native of Temperance, Michigan. He played outside linebacker at Adrian College, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice in December 1993. He served in the Air Force from February 1994 - April 1996.
- Merritt was a graduate assistant football coach at the University of Toledo in 1998 while earning a master's degree in liberal studies education. Between 1999-2002, Merritt coached at the University of Findlay, Bedford High School, New Jersey City University and Tiffin University.
- Bob and his wife, Kavita, reside in Kingwood, Texas, with their daughter, Leela.
