2013 - FRESHMAN
Made his collegiate debut at UNLV on Feb. 17, allowing just one run on five hits in five strong innings. Did not factor into the decision during UT[apos]s 11-2 win over No. 20 Arizona State on Feb. 23, allowing two runs on five hits in three innings.
Fired a career-high 6.0 innings vs. No. 25 Virginia Tech, yielding just two earned runs on eight hits in a 7-3 loss to the Hokies in Cary, N.C.
Earned his first career win with his second 6.0 inning start in a row against Alcorn State on March 10, striking out a career-high seven in the contest.
Did not factor into the decision but he helped the Vols pick up their first SEC win of the year with 4.2 innings of three-run ball at Alabama on March 16.
Made his first relief appearance in the first game of a doubleheader against Missouri on March 23, allowing two runs on two hits in 3.0 innings.
First SEC start came in the series finale at #3 Vanderbilt where he was touched for four runs on six hits in 3.0 innings.
Started on Friday night against No. 11 South Carolina on April 5, allowing just two runs (one earned) whlie striking out three in 3.1 innings.
Made his second Friday night start at Kentucky on April 12, throwing four shutout innings, allowing five hits and walking one.
Yielded three runs on eight hits over 4.0 innings in a 5-0 loss to Ole Miss.
Was touched for seven runs on 10 hits in 4.1 frames at Florida.
Picked up his second win of the year with 2.1 shutout frames of relief against Arkansas State with three strikeouts on May 8.
HIGH SCHOOL
Graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School where he was coached by Ryan Wagner. Was a 2012 TBCA All-Region I selection.
Named to the 2012 Johnson City Press Super 22 First Team.
Led the Indians to the 2012 Class AAA state sectionals, striking out 13 batters in a 2-1 loss to Farragut.
Finished with an 8-3 record, 1.20 ERA, two saves and 87 strikeouts in just 67 innings during his senior season.
Posted a 17-4 record on the mound over his final two seasons at Dobyns-Bennett.
