Vols to Host Oct. 3 Open Scrimmage

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee men's basketball team is inviting the public to Food City Center for its Oct. 3 intrasquad scrimmage.
Gates will open at 11 a.m., in advance of the 11:30 a.m. scrimmage. Fans can enter the arena through Gates C and D. Admission is free.
Fans are encouraged to sit in Sections 103, 104, 105, 106 and 107. Concession stands will be closed and there will be no public parking available on campus, as lots are allocated for the Tennessee-Auburn football game.
Last season, the Volunteers went 25-12 (11-7 SEC) and advanced to the Elite Eight for the third consecutive season. Tennessee posted its fifth straight 25-win campaign and, by placing No. 12 nationally, also earned its fifth AP top-20 finish in a row.
Head coach Rick Barnes enters his 12th season at the helm with 861 victories in his career, putting him No. 10 in Division I history, including second among active coaches. One of four coaches ever to garner 30 bids to the Division I NCAA Tournament—that number includes eight in a row at Tennessee—Barnes has a roster that includes 13 new players for 2026-27.
The group includes six players who led their teams in scoring last year: senior guard Dai Dai Ames (Third Team All-ACC at Cal), sophomore guard Jalen Haralson (All-ACC Honorable Mention at Notre Dame), junior guard Juke Harris (Second Team All-ACC at Wake Forest), junior guard Terrence Hill Jr. (First Team All-A-10 at VCU), sixth-year guard Tyler Lundblade (MVC Player of the Year at Belmont) and senior center Miles Rubin (All-A-10 Academic Team at Loyola Chicago).
