Oddo Claims Second Straight SEC Freshman of the Week Honor

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Tennessee volleyball middle blocker Jolene Oddo has been tabbed SEC Co-Freshman of the Week. This is the second consecutive week that Oddo has received SEC Freshman of the Week honors.
Oddo had a strong week for the Lady Vols, finishing with 15 kills and seven blocks. The Clayton, North Carolina, native put up a season-best offensive performance on Sunday against Coastal Carolina, recording a season-high nine kills and adding three blocks.
This season, Oddo leads the Lady Vols in blocks with 21, and has posted two or more in all seven matches this season. She is fourth on the team with 37 kills and has been efficient offensively with a .357 hitting percentage. Oddo has been an important piece for the Tennessee attack recently, tallying five or more kills in four of the team's last five contests.
This honor comes after Oddo earned freshman of the week after helping lead Tennessee to a pair of wins over Illinois and Indiana earlier this month. Oddo was crucial in Tennessee's victory against Indiana on Sept. 6, finishing with a season-high five blocks.
