June 10, 2026 | Women's Golf
The postseason honors continued to roll in for Tennessee women's golf on Wednesday afternoon as Kyra Van Kan and Madison Messimer were each recognized as All-Americans by Golfweek.
Â
Van Kan was named a Third Team All-American, while Messimer was tabbed as an All-American Honorable Mention. This is the second 2025-26 All-American honor for the pair, as both were previously named All-American Honorable Mentions by the WGCA last week. Additionally, the Golfweek honors mark the 32nd and 33rd total All-American awards in program history.
Â
Van Kan was dominant for Tennessee all season, setting new single-season program records with a 71.00 scoring average and 21 rounds of par or better. The sophomore posted six top ten finishes, including an individual victory at the Paradise Invitational, capped by a tie for fifth place at the NCAA Championships, the second-best finish ever by a Lady Vol at the event.
Â
Messimer had a similar output for Tennessee. The freshman notched a 71.11 scoring average and 20 rounds of par or better, both surpassing the previous single-season records entering the 2025-26 season. Messimer clinched seven top ten finishes this season, including a victory at the Chris Banister Golf Classic and a runner-up finish in her SEC Championship debut.
Â
The All-American recognition adds on to a list of accolades for Messimer that includes SEC Freshman of the Year, First Team All-SEC, and a spot on the SEC All-Freshman Team. Van Kan earned a spot on the All-SEC Second Team for her impressive sophomore season.
