Tennessee Women’s Golf Selected to Waco NCAA Regional
April 29, 2026 | Women's Golf
The No. 16 Tennessee women's golf team learned their NCAA regional destination on Wednesday afternoon when the Lady Vols were selected to compete in the Waco Regional, as announced during the NCAA women's golf selection show.
Tennessee was tabbed as the 3 seed out of 12 teams competing in the Waco Regional. It is the program's highest seed in a NCAA Regional since 2006, when the Lady Vols were also a No. 3 seed.
The Lady Vols' fourth consecutive NCAA Regional appearance is the 32nd overall in program history. Last season, Tennessee advanced to the national championships from the Lubbock Regional, earning the team's first NCAA championship berth since 2019.
The Waco Regional, as well as five other NCAA Regionals around the country, is slated to take place Monday, May 11, through Wednesday, May 13. The top five teams from each regional will then advance to the national championships, which are set to be contested at Omni La Costa Resort and Spa's Champions Course in Carlsbad, California, from May 22 through May 27.
The Lady Vols enter the Waco Regional coming off a program-changing victory at the SEC Championship, where Tennessee earned its first conference title in program history. Unbeaten efforts from Kyra Van Kan and Sofie Engesaeth highlighted the match play portion of the tournament, while freshman Madison Messimer led the way with a runner-up finish in the stroke play portion of the event.
Ridgewood Country Club in Waco, Texas, will play host to the Waco Regional, which will be hosted by Baylor University.
