Ford Tabbed to Golden Spikes Award Midseason Watch List

CARY, N.C. – Tennessee third baseman Henry Ford was named to the 2026 Golden Spikes Award Midseason Watch List, USA Baseball announced on Thursday.
Ford has been the Volunteers' most consistent hitter this season, leading the team with a 1.024 OPS, 38 hits, 10 home runs, 30 RBIs, 74 total bases and a .638 slugging percentage in 27 games.
The junior transfer from Virginia also leads the Big Orange with three homers and eight RBIs in conference play. Ford is one of 16 players from the SEC on the midseason watch list, which leads all conferences.
The Golden Spikes Award is presented annually to the country's top amateur baseball player and is widely considered the most prestigious honor in amateur baseball.

Fan voting will again play a part in the Golden Spikes Award in 2026. Following the semifinalist announcement on May 14, baseball fans can vote for their favorite players on GoldenSpikesAward.com to help determine the finalists and winner. The finalists will be revealed on June 10, and the 2026 Golden Spikes Award winner will be announced on June 29 during a presentation that will be televised on the MLB Network.
