After an uncharacteristic 5-over-par 77 in Saturday's opening round, Tyler Watts bounced back with a 2-under-par 70 in round two, the best round of the tournament by a Vol thus far. Tennessee's highest-placed individual through two rounds, Rudy Sautron impressed with a 1-under-par 71 in round two. A clean scorecard featuring three birdies and just two bogeys propelled the senior to his sixth round of par or better this season. With an even-par 36-hole score, Sautron is tied for 12th place ahead of Monday's final round. He is seeking a fourth consecutive top-15 finish to open the season.
Another improved Vol in round two, Jackson Herrington carded a 1-over-par 73 for Tennessee. An up-and-down day featured a stretch of three consecutive birdies on the back-nine to bring his daily total to five. At 4-over-par, Herrington is tied for 29th place through 36 holes.
Bruce Murphy earned the final score countable toward the team total for Tennessee in round two. The fifth-year from Atlanta closed the day with a 5-over-par 77. Murphy is tied for 29th place alongside Herrington entering round three on Monday.
