Webb Announces 2025-26 Men's Golf Season Slate
August 06, 2025 | Men's Golf
Roughly a month away from the fall season, Tennessee men's golf head coach Brennan Webb announced the Vols' 2025-26 schedule Wednesday.Â
"This schedule follows in the tradition of the last couple of years of being one of the hardest schedules of any team in the country," said Webb. "It ticks off all of the boxes we are looking for: demanding golf courses, strong strength of fields and geographical contrast. This combination continues to provide our team everything they need to prepare for the post season as well as enjoy the benefits of their own individual play."
Tennessee's schedule features nine regular-season events, beginning with four tournaments in the fall. Two of those will take place in the Volunteer State, including the third annual Visit Knoxville Collegiate, which will open the 2025-26 season.
In the spring, UT will compete in five regular-season tournaments ahead of the SEC Championships in April, which are set to be held for the 25th consecutive year at the Seaside Course at Sea Island Golf Club in St. Simons Island, Georgia.
Tennessee is set to compete in tournaments across six different states this season, with international stops in both Puerto Rico and Mexico.
The Vols open their fall slate close to home at Tennessee National Golf Club with the Visit Knoxville Collegiate. Last season, Tennessee placed third in the event, with three golfers finishing inside the top 25.
Just over a week later, the Vols will remain in East Tennessee as they make a short trip to Ooltewah, Tennessee, to compete in the Invitational at The Honors Course. Hosted by Chattanooga, the inaugural event will showcase a premier field of top-tier collegiate golf programs.
After a nearly three-week break from competition, the Vols will return to action in South Bend, Indiana, at the Fighting Irish Classic. In last season's event, Tennessee secured a fifth-place team finish, with four golfers placing inside the top 20 individually.
Tennessee will conclude its fall schedule on the gulf coast at the Fallen Oak Collegiate Invitational in Biloxi, Mississippi. The 2025 tournament marks the third edition of the event and the Vols' first appearance in the field.
For the fifth straight season and six time in the past seven years, Tennessee tees off its spring slate at the Puerto Rico Classic at Grand Reserve Golf Club in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico, from Feb. 9-11. Last season, Josh Hill tied for sixth at the Puerto Rico Classic as Lance Simpson placed inside the top 25.Â
After starting the spring in Puerto Rico, the Vols travel to Mexico or the Cabo Collegiate from March 2-4—also marking the fifth straight year in which the Big Orange have competed in that event. In last season's event, the Vols placed fifth as Simpson secured a top-15 showing.Â
For its third spring tournament, Tennessee heads to the West Coast for the Pauma Valley Invitational, which runs from March 17-18 at Pauma Valley Country Club. Last year, UT notched a fifth-place showing in the loaded event while Simpson tied for 11th.Â
Two weeks after its trip to California, UT will return to the Volunteer State and are set to take part in the Mason Rudolph Collegiate from April 3-5 in Franklin, Tennessee. The Vols have competed in the event numerous times throughout the years. In 2023, the team secured a second-place finish in the mid-state.Â
For its final regular season tournament, the Big Orange will return to the Lewis Chitengwa Memorial Tournament (April 14-15). During the 2023-24 season, the Vols captured the team title at the Lewis Chitengwa Memorial Tournament after shooting 27-under overall.Â
A week later, Tennessee heads to Sea Island Golf Club for the SEC Championships. The 2025-26 season will mark the 25th year of the SEC Championships at Sea Island Golf Club's Seaside Course. In addition to hosting the SEC Championships, the par-70, 7,005-yard Tom Fazio re-designed course is home to the PGA Tour's annual RSM Classic.
During the 2024-25 season, the Vols placed 20th at the NCAA Championships. Individually, Lance Simpson had a breakout year. The redshirt junior earned both PING and Golfweek All-America Honorable Mention status after four top-10 finishes and a career-high 24 rounds of par or better on the season, which marks the third-most in a single season in program history.Â
