
Burg to Compete for Israel at FIBA EuroBasket 2025

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Ethan Burg, an incoming University of Tennessee men's basketball player, will represent Israel at FIBA EuroBasket 2025.
Burg is not only the youngest individual on Israel's roster, but was the youngest member of his home country's tryout camp.
The 24-nation FIBA EuroBasket 2025 will be held in four countries, from Aug. 27-Sept. 14. Israel and the other five teams in Group D will play at Spodek Arena in Katowice, Poland, to begin the tournament. Games will also take place in Cyprus, Finland and Latvia.
Israel will play its group stage matchups against Iceland (Aug. 28 at 8 a.m. ET), Poland (Aug. 30 at 2:30 p.m. ET), France (Aug. 31 at 11 a.m. ET), Belgium (Sept. 2 at 8 a.m. ET) and Slovenia (Sept. 4 at 11 a.m. ET).
This is the 15th consecutive time Israel is participating in FIBA EuroBasket, dating to 1993. It went 5-1 in qualifying competition to earn its spot in the 2025 tournament.
Burg made his Israeli senior national team debut during qualifying play, earning minutes in Israel's wins over Portugal and Slovenia in February 2025.
Previously, Burg competed in the 2022 FIBA U20 European Championship, which took place in Podgorica, Montenegro, in July 2022.
