Tennessee Matches Program Records in 9-0 Win Over Eastern Kentucky
August 17, 2025 | Soccer
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee (2-0) put on an offensive clinic Sunday afternoon, matching the program record for goals in a single match with nine.
Fresh off a historic upset of No. 1 North Carolina, Tennessee carried its momentum, striking twice in the first 10 minutes.
Senior Ally Brown opened the scoring in the ninth minute with a header off a perfectly placed cross from sophomore Reese Mattern. Moments later, Redshirt-Junior Shae O'Rourke netted her third goal of the season in just her second game as a Lady Vol, assisted by Sophomore Skylar Miller and Redshirt-Junior Luciana Latino.
Although Tennessee dominated possession, the scoring went quiet until the second half. In the 52nd minute, sophomore Jasmine Boggs sent a ball from the far sideline to the back post, where Skylar Miller finished with a header — giving both players their first career assist and goal on the same play.
Junior Kate Runyon followed with a header goal in the 63rd minute, set up by a Boggs cross again from the sideline.
From there, Knoxville native Alivia Stott went on a historic run, scoring five goals in 20 minutes between the 65th and 85th minutes. The stretch marked the most goals ever scored in one half in program history and the shortest span in which a Tennessee player has tallied five goals. Each of her five goals was assisted by a different Lady Vol.
Goalkeepers Ally Zazzara and Cayden Norris split duties in Tennessee's record-tying clean sheet.
A HISTORIC AFTERNOON:
Stott tied the single-match program record with five goals, a feat not accomplished since Allison Campbell in 1998.
Stott set a new program record for goals in one half, breaking a mark that had stood since 1998.
Tennessee tied a program record with nine goals, its first nine-goal game since Sept. 6, 2002.
The Lady Vols tied the program records for largest margin of victory and shutout with the 9-0 result.
Tennessee's defense did not allow a shot through the entire match for the first time since Sept. 5, 2019.
Five different Lady Vols scored, while nine different Lady Vols recorded assists.
A FIELD FULL OF FIRSTS:
Stott scored her first collegiate goal and added four more to tie a program record.
Skylar Miller recorded her first collegiate goal and assist.
Freshman Milee Zych made her debut and tallied an assist.
Freshman Abby Batts made her debut with an assist.
Redshirt freshman Bella Smith made her debut with an assist.
