Rowing Central: NCAA Championships
May 29, 2025 | Rowing
WEST WINDSOR, N.J. – The fourth-ranked Tennessee rowing program is set to compete at the 2025 NCAA Rowing Championships Friday-Sunday this weekend, May 30-June 1, at Lake Mercer in West Windsor, New Jersey.
Tennessee earned an at-large bid to the event and was tabbed the No. 3 overall seed in the First Eight, the No. 3 seed in the Second Eight and the No. 8 seed in the Four. Tennessee's trio of NCAA Championship crews combine for a remarkable 66-9 record this season.
Race results during the event can be found HERE. All days of competition will be live streamed on NCAA.com.
This year marks Tennessee's 11th NCAA Championship appearance all-time—the seventh team appearance, as four appearances were at-large boats—and the third in the last five years after not qualifying for the event from 2011-19 (no championship in 2020 due to COVID-19).
Competition begins Friday morning with Division I heats underway by 10:12 a.m. ET. There will be four heats in each of the 1V8, 2V8 and 1V4 boat classifications. The top three crews in each heat will advance to the AB semifinals, with the remaining boats moving to the CD semifinals.
The Lady Vol First Eight crew hits the water at 10:12 a.m. Friday for its heat race. At 11 a.m., Tennessee's 2V8+ takes the course in a heat, before UT's First Four gets underway in a heat at 11:24 a.m. to conclude Tennessee's action on day one.
