March 22, 2025 | Swimming & Diving, Women's Swimming & Diving
FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – Tennessee women's swimming won three medals, posted four podium finishes and garnered All-America honors in seven events on night three of the 2025 NCAA Championships at the Weyerhaeuser Aquatic Center.
Â
The 400 medley relay ended the night with a bang, as the lineup of Josephine Fuller, Mona McSharry, Sara Stotler and Camille Spink brought home a silver medal with the second-fastest effort in school history at 3:24.99. It was Tennessee's highest finish in the event since winning the title in 2013, and this marked the second year in a row of winning a medal after taking bronze last season.
Â
Another major highlight of the night came in the 100 breast championship final, when Mona McSharry and McKenzie Siroky took second and third. For the second year in a row, McSharry brought home silver in the event, touching the wall in 57.40. Siroky garnered her first All-America honor as a Lady Vol, winning the bronze in a time of 57.41.
Â
The impressive feat turned out to have even more historical significance. It marked the first time in program history that two swimmers finished top three in an event at NCAAs. The previous closest was in 2012, when Kelsey Floyd and Jenny Connolly took third and fourth in the 100 fly.
Â
Brooklyn Douthwright posted the second podium finish of her career in the 200 free, clocking a 1:44.03 effort to take eighth. The performance marked her fourth straight season of placing inside the top 10 in the event.
Â
For the just the third time ever (2019, 2022), two Lady Vols competed in the 400 IM finals at NCAAs. The freshmen duo of Ella Jansen (4:02.53) and Emily Brown (4:04.89) finished ninth and 11th, respectively. Brown's time was a personal-best effort and ranked fifth in school history.
Â
Tennessee picked up its second consolation final victory in the 100 back, as Fuller placed ninth overall with a time of 50.28. The effort marked her third straight top-10 finish in the event. During the 100 back prelims, Regan Rathwell clocked a 51.70 effort to win her heat. The time checked in as the sixth-fastest on the Lady Vol leaderboards.
Â
Entering the final day of competition, the Big Orange sits in fifth with a score of 195. Tennessee is 18 points ahead of Florida and 14 points behind Indiana in the battle for fourth place.
