Ojeda Hits 200 Career Wins, #6 Lady Vols Conquer #25 Crimson Tide, 4-0
March 21, 2025 | Women's Tennis
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Head coach Alison Ojeda captured her 200th career victory as the sixth-ranked Tennessee women's tennis team posted a dominant 4-0 victory over No. 25 Alabama on Friday evening at Barksdale Stadium.
"To win 200 matches here as a coach is exciting and also an honor," Ojeda said. "I have been lucky to coach so many wonderful young women, all who chose to give their all for Tennessee. Thank you so much to each LVFL. You all are the ones who won these matches, not me."
The Lady Vols got off to a hot start in singles play, winning five of their six first sets. No. 32 Aulia notched Tennessee's first singles win, routing Milicevic in a decisive 6-2, 6-2 fashion on court two. Yil-Pipari followed with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Maquet on court six, and Vanesa Suarez delivered the clinching point on court five, 7-5, 6-0.
UT has now tallied 12 straight victories over the Crimson Tide, a streak that dates back to March 13, 2016, when UT tallied a 4-2 win in Knoxville. Ojeda's teams have secured eight of the 12 consecutive victories, with Ojeda maintaining an undefeated record against Alabama.

UT also celebrated its 800th program victory, with Ojeda contributing 155 of those triumphs. Her 200th career victory places her alongside two other Tennessee head coaches, Mike Patrick and Sonia Hahn, who have also reached the 200-win milestone in their careers.
"When I graduated from Tennessee, my dream was to come back here and coach one day," Ojeda added. So, I got a UT flag and had everyone who played a part in my coaching career as a Lady Vol sign the flag. My vision was to be able to hang it one day in my office as a reminder of all the hard work that so many people put in every day to help us athletes do what we do! Today, 23 years later, I feel incredibly lucky and grateful to be sitting in Mike Patrick's office, working every day with the flag above my desk."
