Women’s Tennis Central - #7 Tennessee at #67 Kentucky

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The seventh-ranked Tennessee women's tennis team will begin its SEC slate with a trip to Lexington, Ky., to face No. 67 Kentucky at 1 p.m. ET on Saturday afternoon at Hilary J. Boone Tennis Complex. The two bordering state schools will face off for the 51st time.
The Lady Vols (6-1) are coming off back-to-back ranked wins after defeating No. 15 Pepperdine and No. 4 Stanford at the ITA National Team Indoor Championships. Junior Leyla Britez Risso captured a perfect weekend at the three-day event, notching three singles wins and a doubles victory. She leads the team with a 7-0 singles slate and a 3-0 doubles record thus far.
Conley Raidt provided the winning point against the No. 15 Waves, with a convincing three-set affair against No. 108 Duru Soke, 4-6, 7-6(4), 6-3. The freshman has now captured three clinches thus far during the 2025 dual season, winning the final point in the following matches: East Carolina, No. 15 Ohio State and No. 15 Pepperdine.
Through the start of the spring season, senior Elza Tomase and junior Britez Risso both have snagged SEC Player of the Week honors, with Britez Risso earning it on Jan. 22 and Tomase doing so on Jan. 29.
Two Lady Vols duos are currently undefeated in doubles. The pair of junior Catherine Aulia and Britez Risso are the lone tandem to produce a 3-0 ledger. Raidt and Saray Yli-Piipari are a flawless 1-0.

The Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced on Feb. 20 that the squad is No. 7 in the fourth poll of 2025. The No. 7 ranking is the highest the Lady Vols have achieved in the Alison Ojeda era. Scouting Kentucky: The Lady Vols lead the all-time series, 31-20, against Kentucky. Fifteen of Tennessee's 31 wins have come in Lexington. The last time the two teams met was almost a year ago in Knoxville, Tenn., when the Big Orange swept the Wildcats in a 4-0 contest on April 12, 2024. Tennessee is looking for its third consecutive sweep against Kentucky on Saturday. Head coach Shelly Jaudon is in her second campaign at the helm of the Wildcats and owns a 15-17 record. Kentucky possesses a 6-2 overall record heading into conference play.
