TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- After leading the SEC in nearly every receiving category, Tennessee junior wide receiver Chris Brazzell II has been selected as a semifinalist for the 2025 Biletnikoff Award, the Tallahassee Quarterback Club (TQC) Foundation announced Monday.
Brazzell was one of 13 semifinalists chosen for the honor that annually recognizes the college football season's outstanding FBS receiver. He is one of three receivers selected from the SEC.
Brazzell, a native of Midland, Texas, is the fifth player in Tennessee history to earn semifinalist accolades, joining Joey Kent (1996), Kelley Washington (2001), Robert Meachem (2006) and Jalin Hyatt (2022). Hyatt won the award that fall for his record-setting campaign.
Brazzell leads the SEC in receiving yards per game (87.3), receiving yards (873) and receiving touchdowns (8). He's also caught a league-best five touchdowns in conference-only games. Brazzell ranks 10th in the nation in receiving yards and touchdowns.
The junior has been even better on the biggest stage. Against current ranked teams (3), Brazzell has caught 19 passes for 311 yards and three touchdowns. He dazzled fans with six receptions for 177 yards and three touchdowns in the Vols' overtime loss to current No. 4 Georgia.
Off the field, Brazzell has partnered with the Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee to help provide meals for families this Thanksgiving.
The Biletnikoff Award's semifinalists, three finalists, and award recipient are selected by the highly distinguished Biletnikoff Award National Selection Committee, a group of 600 prominent college football journalists, commentators, announcers, Biletnikoff Award winners, and other former receivers. Finalists will be announced on Nov. 25.
Recently, the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation opened the 2025 FanVote. Every fan may vote once daily on the Biletnikoff Award FanVote page. The aggregate fan tally will be counted as one official vote to determine semifinalists, finalists (three receivers), and the winner. In the closest contest in years, the FanVote tally provided the one-vote margin of victory for 2013 winner Brandin Cooks of Oregon State.
