NASHVILLE, Tenn. – No. 23 Tennessee travels west this weekend for an important series against in-state and Southeastern Conference rival No. 4 Vanderbilt at Hawkins Field in Nashville.  Â
The Volunteers will look to earn their first series win over the Commodores in Nashville since sweeping them back in 2009. UT and Vandy have split the past 10 meetings with each other. The Dores took two out of three in Knoxville last season.

- No. 23 Tennessee will look to capture its second-straight SEC series win this weekend after taking two of three against South Carolina last weekend in Knoxville.
- This weekend's series between the Vols and Commodores will be the first time the two teams have met as ranked foes since 2014 when No. 25 Tennessee took two of three games from No. 4 Vanderbilt in Knoxville.
- The Vols' series win over the Gamecocks was their first SEC series win of the year. It was also the first time UT won a series against South Carolina since 2015. Friday's 15-5 win snapped a nine-game losing streak to the Gamecocks.
- UT's 15 runs on Friday night was the most in an SEC game for the Vols since an 18-2 win over Georgia back on May 21, 2005. The Big Orange also posted a season-high 17 hits in the game.
- Relief pitcher Andrew Schultz continued his dominant season with 2.1 shutout innings on Saturday night. The junior allowed just one hit and one walk while striking out six batters. On the year, Schultz has yet to allow a single run and has given up just two hits while racking up 21 strikeouts in nine innings of work.
- A four-run eighth inning lifted UT to a comeback win in Sunday's series finale against USC. All four runs in the inning were driven in by freshmen (Jake Rucker -2, Connor Pavolony -1, Max Ferguson -1). Pavolony tied the game with an RBI groundout while Rucker had the big hit with a two-run single to give the Vols a 5-3 lead.
- Tennessee's pitching staff enters this weekend ranked second nationally and first in the SEC with a 2.53 team. The Vols also lead the country in WHIP (1.01) and shutouts (six) while ranking fifth in strikeout-to-walk ratio (3.65). Â
- All three of UT's weekend starters have experienced success in their careers against the Commodores. Friday-night starter Garrett Stallings is 2-0 against Vanderbilt with wins against them in each of the last two seasons. Saturday starter Zach Linginfelter recorded a save against Commodores in 2017 and Will Neely earned his first-collegiate win against Vandy as a freshman in 2016.

- Ethan Paul and JJ Bleday anchor a deep lineup that features seven players with 14 or more runs batted in. Paul ranks second in the SEC with 37 RBI while Bleday is tied for the conference lead with nine home runs.
- The Dores also feature a solid 1-2 punch on the mound in Friday and Saturday starters Drake Fellows (5-0, 3.68 ERA) and Patrick Raby (4-0, 0.57 ERA). Fellows is tied for second in the SEC in wins while Raby's ERA ranks second in the conference.
