Vols Set to Play Missouri and Arkansas

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The 24th-ranked Tennessee women's tennis team is back on the road this weekend, as the Volunteers look to gain some momentum down the final stretch of the regular season.
The Volunteers (15-8, 2-7 SEC) begin the weekend with a matchup against Missouri, which is ranked 46th in the country, on Friday at 6 p.m. ET. Tennessee will then face its 13th consecutive ranked opponent on Sunday, when UT takes on No. 19 Arkansas at 1 p.m. ET.
Here are a few notes heading into the weekend:
Updated Rankings
- The ITA released its updated rankings on Tuesday, and the Volunteers came in at No. 24 in the country.
- Senior Brittany Lindl remained at No. 58 in the country for singles. She has six ranked wins so far on the season.
What Happened Last
- Despite a hard-fought match, the No. 23 Tennessee women's tennis team fell, 4-0, to third-ranked Georgia at Barksdale Stadium on Saturday.
- The Vols (15-8, 2-7 SEC) got down early, dropping the doubles point to the Bulldogs. In singles, UT showed some fight, winning the first set on Court 2 and forcing first-set tiebreakers on three other courts. The Volunteers were unable to convert on the opportunity, though, dropping all three of the tiebreakers and losing all momentum in the match.
Missouri Notes
- This will be only the fifth meeting between the Vols and the Missouri Tigers. The series is currently tied at 2-2, with Missouri taking last years match.
- When playing in Columbia, the series is split at 1-1.
- This season, Missouri is ranked No. 46 in the country with one team ranked in doubles according to the latest ITA poll. Amina Ismail and Beatriz Machado Santos make up the 17th-ranked doubles duo in the country.
Arkansas Notes
- This will be the 31st time Tennessee and Arkansas have met. UT leads the overall series 24-6.
- The Volunteers are 10-2 when playing in Fayetteville and have won the last three over the Razorbacks.
- Arkansas is the 19th-ranked team in the country and have two players ranked in singles and one team ranked in doubles according to the latest ITA poll. In singles, the ranked Rebels include Shannon Hudson (51) and Ana Oparenovic (77). The ranked duo is Hudson and Giulia Pairone at No. 40.
