UT Relays Fly On Day 2 of Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA -- Tennessee's relay squads and Brielyn Rogers had standout performances on Friday at the 122nd Penn Relays at Franklin Field.
Saturday's third and final day of Penn Relays will feature a live broadcast on NBC Sports Network from 12:30 p.m. ET to 3 p.m. ET.
Rogers won the won the Women's Triple Jump College division with a season-best leap of 12.35 meters (40-6.25) on her third jump. She and Penn State's Kaitlyn Lopez had each jumped 12.35 meters, but Rogers' next-best jump of 12.29 meters on her sixth try was the tiebreaker that gave her the win.
The Tennessee women's 4x200 relay of Lenysse Dyer, Felicia Brown, Felecia Majors and Kali Davis-White produced the top prelims time of 1:32.85. That time is the fifth-fastest mark in school history. The quartet of Dyer, Brown, Majors and Davis-White set the program record at 1:31.51 on April 2 at the Florida Relays.
Tennessee took second place in the Women's 4x100 Championship of America Invitational Presented by Core Power. The quartet of Maia McCoy, Davis-White, Majors and Brown clocked a 43.72.
UT took sixth place in the Women's Shuttle Hurdles Championship of America Invitational Presented by Core Power. Cidae'a Woods, Rogers, Maya Neal and LaChyna Roe won the second heat in 59.08.
On the men's side, UT's men's 4x100 of Mustaqeem Williams, Christian Coleman, Malik Elion, Nathan Strother) clocked the fourth-best time in prelims at 40.37.
The Vols took third place in the Men's DMR College division with a time of 10:02.19. Zach Long ran 3:03.66 in the 1200 meters, Darryl Harris ran 49.18 in the 400 meters, Tyler Woodrome ran 1:53.63 in the 800 meters and Austin Whitelaw ran 4:15.74 in the 1600 meters.
Tennessee finished the day strong with the day's second-fastest men's 4x400. The team of Ari Cogdell, Coleman, Williams and Strother clocked in at 3:09.07.
***Late Thursday Results: Chelsea Blaase took third place in the Women's 5000 Meter Championship with a time of 16:13.22. Austin Whitelaw took third in the Men's 5000 Meter Championship in a PR 13:58.54.
