Vols Post 4 Wins at LSU Alumni Gold Meet

BATON ROUGE, La. -- Tennessee posted four wins at the LSU Alumni Gold meet on Saturday at Bernie More Track Stadium.
UT also had 22 top-five showings with eight on the men's side and 14 on the women's side.
Felicia Brown won the women's 200 meters A Section with a time of 22.57 (+2.6). UT dominated the 200 meters with Kali Davis-White taking third place in 22.98 (+2.6) and Felecia Majors placing seventh in 23.29 (+2.6). In the B Section, Layla White ran a PR 23.68 (+1.7) to take second place.
Cassie Wertman won the women's shot put with a season-best throw of 17.11 meters (56-1.75).
Tyler Woodrome clocked a PR 1:52.25 with a surge down the home stretch to win the men's 800 meters B section.
Matthew Zajac won the men's discus with a season-best throw of 54.38 meters (178-5.00).
At the Georgia Tech Invitational, senior men's pole vaulter Jake Blankenship opened his outdoor season with a win at George C. Griffin Track. Competing unattached, Blankenship cleared 5.50 meters (18-0.50).
Tennessee next competes in the Penn Relays, which will be held April 28-30 at Franklin Field in Philadelphia, Pa.
