Tennessee Set For LSU Alumni Gold Meet

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee heads to Baton Rouge, La., this week to compete in Saturday's LSU Alumni Gold meet at Bernie Moore Track Stadium.
"The LSU Alumni Gold meet is a Saturday meet and an opportunity for us to see some SEC competition," Tennessee director of track and field and cross country Beth Alford-Sullivan said. "It is a bigger invitational, so we will go there and get our feet wet and work on the things we have to work on."
Both the UT men and the UT women are ranked in the top 25 of the 2016 USTFCCCA Outdoor Track & Field computer rankings. The men leaped 12 spots to No. 24. The women climbed three spots to No. 16.
Tennessee is coming off of a stellar weekend at the Seminole Invitational that featured 29 personal bests. Felicia Brown was named the SEC Women's Runner of the Week after setting a new Tennessee record in the women's 200 meters with the nation's top mark of 22.55. Brown, Christian Coleman and Kali Davis-White recorded Olympic A standards in Tallahassee last Saturday.
Senior pole vaulter Jake Blankenship will compete unattached in the Georgia Tech Invite in Atlanta, Ga.
