Vols Lose to Missouri, 4-3

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee women's tennis team fell, 4-3, against No. 71-ranked Missouri at Goodfriend Tennis Center on Thursday.
After the Volunteers (8-11, 1-7 SEC) took a 3-1 lead by winning the doubles point and taking two courts in singles, the Tigers (14-5, 2-4 SEC) bounced back to win on the final three courts to end the match.
In doubles, after going down 2-5, the 75th-ranked duo of freshman Sadie Hammond and junior Eve Repic came from behind to defeat the 73rd-ranked team of Bea Machado Santos and Brianna Lashway, 7-5, on Court 1.
The Volunteers took a 1-0 lead when freshman Margo Taylor and senior Tiffany Tavares clinched the doubles point with a 7-5 win over Cassidy Spearman and Brittany Lashway on Court 3. The duo is 4-0 when playing together, with each of the wins coming in conference play.
In singles, Repic put the Vols up, 2-0, with a win on Court 2 over Kelli Hine, 6-1, 7-5. Junior Brittany Lindl edged out Brittany Lashway, 6-3, 7-6 (3), on Court 4 to give UT a 3-1 lead against the Tigers.
Missouri would bounce back, though, winning three consecutive matches that were in the third set to take the match, 4-3.
Tennessee will be back in action Saturday to face the No. 24 Arkansas Razorbacks at noon at Goodfriend Tennis Center.
