Brown Named To Bowerman Watch List

NEW ORLEANS -- Tennessee senior sprinter Felicia Brown has been added to the pre-NCAA Indoor Championships Watch List for The Bowerman.
Tennessee has two Vols on the Watch List for The Bowerman. Senior pole vaulter Jake Blankenship has been on the men's Watch List for The Bowerman since the start of the indoor season.
The 10 women on the latest women's Watch List include Brown, Kansas State's Akela Jones, Texas A&M's Shamier Little, Texas' Courtney Okolo, Georgia's Keturah Orji, Stephen F. Austin's Demi Payne, Oregon's Raevyn Rogers, Ole Miss' Raven Saunders, Notre Dame's Molly Seidel and Texas A&M's Shelbi Vaughan.
Brown will compete at next week's NCAA Indoor Championships in the 60 meters, 200 meters and 4x400 relay. She is enjoying an outstanding senior season, posting career highs as one of the nation's elite sprinters. Brown, who is making her second trip to NCAA Indoors, has gotten faster with each meet and enters next week's championships with the world's top 200-meter time, a school-record 22.45 she ran last week at SECs to win gold. Brown also ranks fifth in the nation in the 60 meters with a time of 7.23 from the prelims at SECs. In addition, she ran anchor on Tennessee's women's 4x400 that set a new school record and won gold at last week's SECs with a time of 3:30.56.
The Bowerman, which debuted in 2009, is presented annually by the USTFCCCA to the most outstanding male and female collegiate track & field athletes in the nation.
Oregon's Jenna Prandini and Florida's Marquis Dendy are the reigning winners of The Bowerman, which is named for legendary Oregon track & field and cross country coach Bill Bowerman.
