Kamara Lands on Hornung Award Honor Roll

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Tennessee redshirt junior tailback Alvin Kamara has been selected to the Paul Hornung Award Honor Roll for Week Five following his impressive display during the Vols' thrilling and improbable win at Georgia last Saturday.
The Paul Hornung Award, presented by Texas Roadhouse, is annually awarded to the most versatile player in major college football. The winner of this year’s award and his family will be honored on March 7, 2017, at a banquet presented by KentuckyOne Health at the Galt House Hotel in downtown Louisville, Ky.
Kamara, a native of Norcross, Georgia, accounted for 137 all-purpose yards and a score in the Tennessee's last-second, 34-31 win at Georgia. He carried the ball 16 times for 62 yards, caught three passes for 26 yards and a score, and returned three punts for 50 yards. Kamara returned a punt 15 yards to midfield late in the third quarter and five plays later he hauled in a 16-yard touchdown pass to cut Georgia’s lead to 24-21.
The Vols are 5-0 on the season and 2-0 in the SEC East.
Kamara is joined on the honor roll by fellow running backs T.J. Logan of North Carolina and Joe Mixon of Oklahoma as well as Boise State wide receiver Cedrick Wilson.
