UT Completes Regular Season In Oak Ridge

OAK RIDGE, Tenn. - Tennessee rowing completed its regular season racing against Iowa and UCF on Saturday in Oak Ridge, finishing second in three out of five races.
UT's varsity eight finished third behind Central Florida and Iowa with a time of 6 minutes and 46.5 seconds.
In the second varsity eight, Iowa finished first (6:41.1), UCF in second (6:45.6) and Tennessee in third (6:57.8).
The Lady Vols' varsity four finished second behind Iowa, but steadily beat Central Florida by a little under eight seconds. Tennessee crossed the finish line in 7 minutes and 42.6 seconds.
The second varsity four also finished second behind the Hawkeyes with a time of 7 minutes and 51.5 seconds.
To close the day of racing, in the 3V8/N8, Tennessee finished second with a time of 7 minutes and 44.7 seconds>
In two weeks, Tennessee will host the Big 12 Championships on Melton Hill Lake in Oak Ridge on May 16 and 17. Tennessee, along with Alabama, Old Dominion will join Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma, Texas and West Virginia in the 2015 event as affiliate members competing for the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Rowing Championship.
