TENNESSEE ROWING
- To close regular season competition, Tennessee will race Central Florida and Iowa on Melton Hill Lake in Oak Ridge, Tenn. beginning at 9:30 AM with the varsity eight. Racing will be held in 20-minute intervals.
- The V8+ at 9:30, 2V8+ at 9:50, V4+ at 10:10, 2V4+ at 10:30 and the 3V8+/N8+ at 10:50.
- The Lady Vols last raced at the Clemson Invitational on April 18-19.
- At the San Diego Crew Classic, Tennessee raced in the Grand Final in the Varsity Eight placing fourth, finished first in the Varsity Four Petite Final and third in the Second Varsity Eight Petite Final.
- To open spring competition, the Big Orange raced in the Oak Ridge Cardinal Invitational finishing the first day placing third in seven of eight races and a weekend-best second place finish in the second varsity eight on Sunday.
- The Lady Vols had a strong and successful fall season bringing home 19 medals from three regattas, the Chattanooga Head Race, the Secret City Head Race and the Head of the Hooch.
- This was second year in a row Tennessee has began its spring season with exhibition races against Michigan and Central Florida in Orlando. Although no times were recorded, the Lady Vols had a strong showing against the Knights and the Wolverines in 2014, winning 14 out of 15 pieces in fours during the exhibition workout.
- To close out the 2013-14 season, the Big Orange was narrowly edged by Oklahoma at the Conference USA Championship. Tennessee's second varsity eight brought home the gold medal in the grand final.

SCOUTING THE COMPETITION
- Central Florida hosted Old Dominion, Nova Southeastern and Miami in a home regatta on April 25. The team collected first place finishes in the 2V4+, 1V4+, 2V8+, and 1V8+ events on their home course.
- After closing out Saturday's home regatta with a first-place finish, UCF's 1V8+ was named the American Athletic Conference Boat of the Week for the second time this season (last on March 24).
- Iowa last competed at the Big Ten/Big 12 Challenge in Kansas City against host Kansas, defending Big 12 Champion Oklahoma, and No. 8-ranked Wisconsin. The Hawkeyes earned 10 victories against Kansas and six wins over Oklahoma.
- Iowa competed in 12 races over two sessions, finishing first in five contests and runner-up in six additional sprints.
UP NEXT
- In two weeks, Tennessee will host the Big 12 Championships on Melton Hill Lake in Oak Ridge on May 16 and 17. Tennessee, along with Alabama, Old Dominion will join Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma, Texas and West Virginia in the 2015 event as affiliate members competing for the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Rowing Championship.
