TENNESSEE ROWING
- To continue official competition, Tennessee will travel to San Diego, Calif. to race in the 42nd Annual San Diego Crew Classic, one of the West Coast's most prominent regattas. The event annually draws some of the nation's premier teams.
- This will be the Lady Vols' fifth appearance in the San Diego Crew Classic, with the last trip coming in 2012 when the Lady Vols finished in the top-five in all three races in which they competed.
- Last week Tennessee raced in exhibition pieces with the University of Minnesota, no times or results were recorded.
- To open spring competition, the Big Orange raced in the Oak Ridge Cardinal Invitational finishing the first day placing third in seven of eight races and a weekend-best second place finish in the second varsity eight on Sunday.
- The Lady Vols had a strong and successful fall season bringing home 19 medals from three regattas, the Chattanooga Head Race, the Secret City Head Race and the Head of the Hooch.
- This was second year in a row Tennessee has began its spring season with exhibition races against Michigan and Central Florida in Orlando. Although no times were recorded, the Lady Vols had a strong showing against the Knights and the Wolverines in 2014, winning 14 out of 15 pieces in fours during the exhibition workout.
- To close out the 2013-14 season, the Big Orange was narrowly edged by Oklahoma at the Conference USA Championship. Tennessee's second varsity eight brought home the gold medal in the grand final.
