2V8+ Finishes Second At Cardinal Invite

OAK RIDGE, Tenn. The Tennessee rowing program closed the weekend of races in the Oak Ridge Cardinal Invitational with a weekend-best second place finish in the second varsity eight, falling to Michigan State by five seconds but solidly defeating Alabama (6:19.351) and Kansas (6:30.763). The Lady Vols' second varsity eight finished with a time of 6 minutes and 15.261 seconds. This second place finish was the best finish for the Lady Vols on the weekend.
In the first race of the morning Tennessee's first varsity eight narrowly fell to Michigan State with a time of 6 minutes and 5.266 seconds while MSU finished in second with a time of 6 minutes 5.088 seconds.
The Lady Volunteers' first varsity four placed fourth against Kansas, Michigan State and Alabama.
In the final race of the day, Tennessee's second varsity four placed third witha time of 7 minutes and 19.270 seconds.
Up next for the Lady Vols will be a head-to-head matchup with Minnesota on Melton Hill Lake in Oak Ridge on March 21.
