Lady Vols Lose Rally on GT Indoor Courts

ATLANTA, Ga. -- The Tennessee Lady Vols made a late push but could not complete the rally in a 5-2 loss to 19th-ranked Georgia Tech on Sunday inside the Ken Byers Tennis Complex
The Lady Vols (6-3) trailed 3-0 but climbed back to make it 3-2 before Georgia Tech (3-2) won the remaining matches in three sets.
Collecting matches on courts 1 and 2, Georgia Tech won the doubles point to take a 1-0 lead. In singles, the teams split the first six first sets before matches started finishing in the lower half of the lineup.
Georgia Tech built its lead to 3-0 via straight-sets wins on courts 5 and 6. Shortly after, sophomore Laurence Guevremont delivered the Lady Vols' first point on court 4, beating Rasheeda McAdoo 6-4, 6-4.
The final three matches went three sets. Sophomore Eve Repic closed the gap with a ranked victory, defeating No. 68 Johnnise Renaud 7-5, 4-6, 6-2 on court 2.
The Yellow Jackets clinched the victory when 54th-ranked Paige Hourigan beat senior Joanna Henderson 7-6, 3-6, 6-1. Natasha Prokhnevska made the final score 5-2 with a 4-6, 7-6, 6-3 win over Victoria Olivarez on court 3.
Tennessee returns home to host Indiana on Saturday at 10:30 a.m.
