Williams Signs with Vols

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee women's golf program added Micheala Williams to the 2016 class on Friday, Nov. 13th.
"Micheala is a very accomplished player and a great student," head coach Judi Pavon said. "She will bring added depth to our program immediately and will have an impact on our future success going forward."
Williams officially signed a NLI to join the Vols roster as the 18th ranked player in the 2016 class according to Polo Golf Rankings. She has won 43 junior events and placed in the top three in an additional 35 tournaments. At Golfweek ranked events, she has five wins and seven top-five finishes. Williams also has one win and five top six finishes on the AJGA.
Her 2015 wins include the American Junior Golf Association St. Louis Junior and the Optimist International Tournament of Champions. She earned her way to both the 2015 Rolex Tournament of Champions and the Rolex Girls Championship. Williams was also one of three players selected to the Alabama Team for the 2015 USGA State Competition. The team finished in sixth place out of 50 teams.
"She is a very well rounded person with lots of talents and will be a fun teammate to get to know. Her golf game is very strong and she will be a good fit with our program," added Pavon.
Williams will enroll and begin her collegiate career in the fall of 2016.
Micheala Williams
Micheala Williams has claimed 43 medalist honors in addition to 35 top-three finishes. She has been an Alabama Junior Golf Champion, a Southeast Junior Golf Champion, an American Junior Golf Champion and an International Junior Golf Champion. She boasts a tournament low score of 63.
Williams was voted the recipient of the Whitt Lee Award for sportsmanship in the state of Alabama by her fellow competitors for the second consecutive year (2014, 2015).
At Athens High School in Athens, Ala., Williams is ranked in the top 10 of her class academically. In addition to being a talented golfer, Williams is also a talented musician. She has been playing piano for ten years.
