Long Earns His 2nd SEC Freshman Runner of Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Tennessee's Zach Long was named SEC Men's Freshman Runner of the Week for the second time this season, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.

Long is the first Tennessee men's runner to earn two SEC weekly cross country honors in the same season. He was previously named SEC Men's Freshman Runner of the Week on Oct. 6.
The Rutledge, Tenn., native finished 37th in the Pre-Nationals Men's 8K Black Race on Saturday at E.P. Tom Sawyer Park in Louisville, Ky. He ran a PR time of 24:49.40 and improved upon his time at the same course from two weeks previous at the Louisville Classic when he covered the same course in 25:06.83. Tennessee posted a 10th-place finish in the 31-team 8K Black Race.
The Vols will next compete in the SEC Cross Country Championships on Oct. 30 in College Station, Texas.
