Darr Headed To College Gridiron Showcase

ARLINGTON, Texas. -- Tennessee punter Matt Darr is headed to the College Gridiron Showcase All-Star Game in Arlington, Texas, scheduled for Jan. 31. Darr set Tennessee records for punts and punt yardage as a senior.
In 13 games in 2014, punted 80 times for 42.2 average with 30 punts inside the 20-yard line and 21 punts of 50 or more yards. He had 19 punts of 50-plus yards in last 10 games and 22 punts inside the 20-yard line in his last nine games. His 80 punts and 3,378 yards as a senior were the most in a season in Tennessee history.
Darr was a candidate for the 2014 Ray Guy Award.
Darr boomed seven punts for 48.4 average with four punts of 50-plus yards including a 60-yard punt at Vanderbilt (11/29) and on Senior Night, booted six punts for 46.5 average with four landing inside the 20 and three inside the 10 vs. Missouri (11/22).
In his career, Darr punted in 30 games with 136 career punts for a 40.6 average with 46 punts inside the 20-yard line and 27 punts of 50-plus yards.
The game will be played at the University of Texas at Arlington's Maverick Stadium and kickoff at 2:30 p.m. ET.
