POSTGAME NOTES
TENNESSEE TIDBITS
- In its 118th season of football, UT's all-time record now stands at 806-363-53.
- UT stands at 21-21-2 in 44 all-time meetings against the Bulldogs, including a 10-11-1 mark in games played in Athens, Ga.
- The last four meetings between Georgia and Tennessee have been decided by eight points or fewer (3, UGA 35-32 in 2014; 8, UGA 20-12 in 2011; 7, UGA 51-44 in 2012; and 3, UGA 34-31 (OT) in 2013.

- #3 Josh Malone made his first start for the Vols at wide receiver today in place of the injured #25 Josh Smith, marking the eighth true freshman to start in 2014, including: #9 Derek Barnett (DE), #80 Daniel Helm (TE), #6 Todd Kelly Jr. (S), #25 Aaron Medley (PK), #73 Jashon Robertson (RG), #55 Coleman Thomas (RT) and #82 Ethan Wolf.
- On the season, Tennessee has played 22 true freshmen, the most for any FBS program in the nation in 2014.
OFFENSE
GOING THE DISTANCE
- With #25 Aaron Medley's 46-yard field goal in the first quarter, the Vols have not been shut out for a span of 251 SEC Conference games, dating back to a 31-0 loss to Florida on Sept. 17, 1994. The streak stands as the fourth-longest active NCAA scoring streak, as well as the 10th-longest all-time among NCAA programs.
- #3 Josh Malone and #82 Ethan Wolf led the Vols, each with five receptions.
- On 24 carries, #1 Jalen Hurd rushed for 119 yards against Georgia, becoming the first true freshman to have 100-plus yards in a single game since Bryce Brown vs. Western Kentucky University in 2009 (104 yards).
- #12 Nathan Peterman entered the game in the third quarter at quarterback, making his first game appearance since Aug. 31 against Utah State.
HOW THEY SCORED
- #25 Aaron Medley made a career-long 46-yard field goal on Tennessee's opening drive in the first quarter, giving his Vols a 3-0 lead to start the game. On the season, Medley is 5-of-7 in field goal attempts.
- #1 Jalen Hurd scored Tennessee's first touchdown of the game, capping off a 72-yard offensive drive for the Vols in the first quarter. The TD put Tennessee ahead, 10-0.
- #14 Justin Worley completed a 23-yard touchdown pass to #18 Jason Croom with less than ten seconds left in the first half.
- #14 Justin Worley completed a 31-yard touchdown pass to #2 Pig Howard in the fourth quarter. Worley then completed a two-point conversion pass to tight end #80 Daniel Helm. The two-point conversion narrowed the Bulldogs' lead to 28-25.
- Worley connected with #8 Marquez North for his third touchdown pass of the day, a six-yard reception in the fourth quarter.
DEFENSE
MAKING STOPS
- The Vols held the Bulldogs to 1-10 on third down conversions, while Tennessee was 6-17. The mark gives Tennessee a 11-53 third down conversion mark (20.8%) on the season. Entering today's game, Georgia held a 44 percent efficiency mark.
- #6 Todd Kelly Jr. intercepted Georgia quarterback #14 Hutson Mason's pass in the second quarter, giving his Vols possession on the Georgia 47-yard line. The interception marked the first of Kelly Jr.'s career and the first for Mason of the 2014 season.
- #23 Cameron Sutton intercepted Mason's pass attempt on the Bulldogs' opening drive in the third quarter. The interception marked the fourth of Sutton's career and his second in 2014.
- #56 Curt Maggitt recorded a two sacks on Georgia's #14 Hutson Mason today.
DOUBLE-DIGITS FOR JOHNSON
- #45 A.J. Johnson led the Vols with 14 total tackles. Johnson's 14 total tackles currently put him in fifth place on the Vols' all-time tackle list (364), passing Craig Puki (358) and Jim Noonan (355) with today's effort.
- In 40 career games, Johnson has put together 20 double-digit tackle games.
SPECIAL TEAMS
GETTING A LEG UP
- #25 Aaron Medley made a 46-yard field goal on the Vols' opening drive to start the game, marking the longest of his career as well as the longest for Tennessee in 2014. Last year's long field goal was 51 yards, accomplished by Michael Palardy.
- #25 Aaron Medley made both PATs following the Vols' touchdowns in the first half. On the year, Medley is 12-of-12 on PATs.
BOOMING YARDAGE
- #43 Matt Darr punted eight times today for an average of 44.6 yards, including a career-long 54-yard punt to begin the second quarter. His 49-yarder in the first quarter was returned by Georgia's #16 Isaiah McKenzie to Tennessee's 32 yard line.
ODDS AND ENDS
BACK IN ACTION
- #82 Ethan Wolf returned to action at tight end today, making five catches for 69 yards, including a 17-yard pass completion in the first quarter.
UPON FURTHER REVIEW
- Georgia's touchdown (Gurley) in the second quarter was reviewed. Upon review, the ruling on the field was confirmed.
- #12 Nathan Peterman's incomplete pass attempt to #8 Marquez North in the fourth quarter was reviewed. The play was ruled an incomplete pass.
