Blankenship Wins Gold at NACAC Meet

KAMLOOPS, Canada -- Rising junior Jake Blankenship won the gold medal at the NACAC U23 Championships on Sunday.
Blankenship cleared 5.50 meters (18 feet, 0.5 inches) to win the international competition. He won the title by nearly a foot with fellow American James Wolfle taking second (5.20m/17-0.75).
Sunday wrapped up the three-day meet featuring nations from North America, Central America and the Caribbean.
Tennessee athletes captured a pair of medals at the meet. Rising senior Tavis Bailey took second in the discus on Friday.
