LEADING & ASSISTING

Three Vols finished with at least 10 points: Kevin Punter (18), Josh Richardson (16) and Robert Hubbs III (11).
Punter was 4 of 4 from 3-point range and 7 of 9 overall from the floor. His 18 points matched a career best (Butler - 12/14/14)
Josh Richardson also had a career-best 8 assists.
He has had at least three assists in six games this season, and three games with at least five assists.

HUBBS' DAY

Sophomore Robert Hubbs III posted his best performance of the year, scoring a season-best 11 points and a career best with 5 rebounds.
Hubbs shot 3 of 6 from 3-point range, the most 3-pointers he has made in a game in his career. He entered the game only 2 of 12 from 3-point range.

ANOTHER DEFENSIVE STREAK

The Vols kept a team scoreless for another long streak Saturday, keeping TSU from scoring for 6:24 during the second half.
In that time, the Vols went on a 13-0 run.
TSU missed seven consecutive shots during that time.

POINTS OFF TURNOVERS

The Vols benefitted from Tennessee State turnovers. TSU had 16 turnovers, which the Vols converted into 25 points.
TSU scored no points off turnovers. The Vols had 10 turnovers.

FIRST HALF NOTES

The Vols led by as many as 14 points in the first half, but TSU closed the have on an 8-0 run to make it 29-26 at halftime.
The Vols went with out a field goal from 5:36 in the first half until Devon Baulkman made a 3-pointer in the Vols' first possession of the second half (19:36).
Josh Richardson led the Vols at halftime with 6 points, 4 assists and 3 rebounds.
Both teams did plenty of scoring from 3-point range. TSU shot 6 of 11 from beyond the arc (54.5 percent) while shooing 10 of 23 (43.5 percent) overall from the field. The Vols were 5 of 14 (35.7 percent) from 3-point range and 10 of 26 (38.5 percent) from the field.

UP NEXT: ETSU

The Vols host ETSU Wednesday, Dec. 31, at at 1 p.m. ET (SEC Network).
The Buccaneers are 6-3 (1-1 SoCon) in their 13th sea- son under head coach Murray Bartow.
ETSU is 3-2 in true road games this season, winning at Winthrop, Morehead State and Eastern Kentucky. Their two road losses came at Valpo and at VCU.
The Bucs are led by senior guards Jalen Riley (19.8 ppg) and Rashawn Rembert (17.0 ppg).
The Volunteers lead the all-time series with ETSU 13-2, dating to 1945. Each of the last nine meetings have taken place in Knoxville.
Tennessee last played the Bucs on Dec. 23, 2011, with the Vols posting a 66-63 win.
