The Vols rallied from a halftime deficit to win for the third time in nine games this season.
The game was tight throughout with 10 lead changes and seven ties.

The game was within four points for more than 12 minutes until a Baulkman 3-point play put Tennessee ahead 58-51 with 54.7 remaining. That was UT's second 3-point play in less than a minute and proved to be the back-breaker for TTU.
Willie Carmichael's steal with 1:25 led to Baulkman's and-1, which put the game out of reach for the Golden Eagles.
TTU's Josiah Moore's 3-pointer with 2:12 remaining cut the Vols' lead to 52-51. Tennessee's Armani Moore answered with the 3-point play 20 seconds later to regain the 4-point lead for the Vols at 55-51.

The Vols held Tennessee Tech to just 37.0 from the floor in the second half.
Ian Chiles, who had played one minute in the first eight games of the season, drew a season-half start and scored his first points with the Vols 20 seconds into the half. He finished with those two points in five minutes.
Tech closed the first half on a 9-0 run to lead 32-26 at intermission. Rowe was perfect from the floor making all four of his 3-point attempts and led all scorers with 12 points in the first half. The Golden Eagles shot 56.5 from the floor in the stanza, making 5-of-8 3-pointers.
