STARTING BLOCKS
- The Tennessee track and field teams will open the 2014-15 indoor campaign on Friday at the Hoosier Open in Bloomington, Indiana. The one-day meet begins with the throws at 3:45 p.m. at Gladstein Fieldhouse on the campus of Indiana University. The complete day's schedule can be found through the links above.

- Tennessee is one of 20 programs to be represented in Bloomington on Friday. The UT team joins fellow SEC member Kentucky in a field that includes host Indiana, Indiana State, Purdue, Butler, DePaul, Cincinnati, and Eastern Kentucky. Representatives from New Mexico, Northern Arizona, Texas, Louisville, and Southern Utah will also compete, as will a handful of athletes from six non-Division I institutions.
- Headlining the returners on the men's side is junior Cameron Brown. The Brentwood, Tennessee, native was a USTFCCCA Second Team All-American last season after placing 12th in the weight throw at last season's NCAA Championships. Fellow Junior Tavis Bailey and senior Matthew Hoty will flank Brown in the throws on Friday.
-
- On the women's side, two more returning All-Americans will look to get their indoor seasons started right. Felicia Brown and Felecia Majors both earned second team All-America status last season in the 200 meters, with the latter also snaring the same honor in the 400 meters. London Freeland, Megan Linder, Brielyn Rogers, Emily Yarnell, Cidae'a Woods, and Cassie Wertman round out the women's field for UT.
- Head Coach Beth Alford-Sullivan on the Hoosier Open: "We're excited to start the indoor season and to give our athletes a good test of where they are after a great fall of conditioning and preparation. Also, the coaching staff is very excited to get out and compete in the orange for the first time and we expect to have a great representation at Indiana."
-
- Up Next: The Tennessee track and field teams will break for the holidays before returning to action in the new year at the Orange & Purple Invitational, hosted by Clemson, on Jan. 10. That meet ushers in the remaining slate of the indoor track and field season, a schedule that includes eight regular season meets before the SEC Championships on Feb. 27-28.
