UT Finishes Weekend In Chattanooga

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - After Tennessee's first day of races in Chattanooga were canceled due to dangerous racing conditions, UT raced in three races to close out its trip to the Head of the Hooch on Sunday, posting five top-10 finishes.
To begin the day Tennessee raced two shells in the women's championship 1x. In a field of 10 boats, Allison Toth finished in ninth place with a time of 21 minutes and 34.5 seconds and Kaitlan Aries finished tenth with a time of 22 minutes and 7.6 seconds.
In the pairs race, Tennessee raced three boats, Kahala Schneider and Kaitlan Aries crossed the finish line in 19 minutes and 43.5 securing the seventh place slot. Two other Tennessee shells finished 17th and 18th, with times of 20 minutes and 54 seconds and 21 minutes and 1 second, respectively.
To close out Tennessee's day of racing, UT's best finish of the day came in the women's open 8+ with a fourth place finish (16:26.4). Junior Harper Lucas led her shell to the fourth place finish, including Sarah McAuliffe, Katie King, Natalie Tavares, Emily Thomson, Victoria Florence, Kaitlyn Wallace, Chandler Frumin and Aja List. The Lady Vols' second shell in the 30 boat field finished ninth with a time of 16 minutes and 54.7 seconds.
