POSTGAME NOTES
TENNESSEE TIDBITS
- In its 118th season of football, UT's all-time record now stands at 809-366-53.
- UT stands at 77-24-9 in their 110 overall meetings with Kentucky.
- The Vols now hold a 41-10-6 series edge over the Wildcats in games played in Knoxville, Tenn.
- Since 1985, Tennessee has won 29 of its last 30 meetings over Kentucky.
- UT's 77 wins over Kentucky are the most against any opponent in program history.
- UT is 313-124-21 all-time in November and 11-4 on November 15.

RECORD SCORING
- Tennessee recorded their most points in a game since scoring 52 against Western Kentucky on Sept. 7, 2013. The Vols' 50-16 win over Kentucky also marked the most points scored against an SEC opponent since putting up 52 against Ole Miss on Nov. 6, 2010.
- With a score of 50-16 against Kentucky, the Vols scored the most points in consecutive SEC games (95, following a 45-42 overtime win at South Carolina) since 2003, when Tennessee won 59-21 against Mississippi State on Nov. 15 and 48-0 against Vanderbilt on Nov. 22 of that year (107 points).
- With 511 total offensive yards against Kentucky and 645 total offensive yards against South Carolina, the Vols have recorded back-to-back 500-plus offensive yard games for the first time since Nov. 3, 2012 against Troy (718) and Nov. 10, 2012 against Missouri (585).
- The Vols' back-to-back 500-plus total offensive yard games against SEC opponents are the first since 2000, when Tennessee had 502 offensive yards against Arkansas on Nov. 11 and 590 offensive yards against Kentucky on Nov. 18.
- The Vols recorded their largest margin of victory against an SEC opponent since a 52-14 Homecoming win against Ole Miss on Nov. 6, 2010.
- Tonight's victory marked the Vols' largest margin of victory (34 points) against Kentucky since a 59-20 win over the Wildcats (39 points) on Nov. 18, 2000.
FOR STARTERS
- #12 Emmanuel Moseley started in place of #56 Curt Maggitt against Kentucky. With the start, Moseley is now the 10th true freshman (including #25 Aaron Medley) to make a start for the Vols, giving Tennessee the second-most true freshman starts in the country (Tulane, 12).
- #80 Daniel Helm made his second career start at tight end, his first start since Sept. 13 at Oklahoma.
- #48 Alex Ellis made his first career start as part of the Vols' two tight end set against the Wildcats.
- Tennessee started five true freshman against Kentucky: #1 Jalen Hurd (TB), #73 Jason Robertson (RG), #80 Daniel Helm (TE), #9 Derek Barnett (DE) and #12 Emmanuel Moseley (CB).
- Tennessee has played 23 true freshman this season, the most for any FBS program in the nation.
OFFENSE
MAKING THINGS HAPPEN
- Quarterback #11 Joshua Dobbs recorded 345 total yards offense, including 297 yards passing (three touchdowns) while rushing for 48 yards with one TD against the Wildcats. Over his three games, Dobbs has 1,079 total yards offense with 11 touchdowns. He is 61-of-99 for 790 passing yards with seven touchdowns and he has rushed 53 times for 289 yards and four TDs.
- #1 Jalen Hurd rushed for 118 yards, establishing his third 100-yard rushing game of the year and marking the first time for a Vol freshman to do so since Jamal Lewis had a record seven 100-yard rushing games in 1997.
- #11 Joshua Dobbs completed a 28-yard pass to #15 Marlin Lane on the Vols' first possession of the game. The catch marked Lane's longest reception of the year.
- With 14 points in the first quarter, the Vols tied their most points scored in the first quarter this season (also, 14 vs. Utah State on Aug. 31). Tennessee also scored 14 points in the first quarter of their last matchup against Kentucky on Nov. 30, 2013 (UT 27, UK 14).
- #82 Ethan Wolf caught a 25-yard pass from Dobbs in the second quarter, marking a career-long reception for Wolf.
- Dobbs completed a 32-yard pass to #18 Jason Croom with less than one minute left in the first half. Croom's 87 total yards receiving against Kentucky marked a career high for yards in a single game, with his previous high being 76 yards vs. Chattanooga on Oct. 11.
- The Vols are currently 5-for-9 on fourth down conversions this season. Against Kentucky, Tennessee was 2-for-2.
HOW THEY SCORED
- #11 Joshua Dobbs connected with #9 Von Pearson for a 21-yard touchdown pass, marking Dobbs' fifth touchdown pass and Pearson's third touchdown catch of the season.
- #37 Brian Randolph intercepted Kentucky quarterback #12 Reese Phillips' pass and returned it 23 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter.
- Dobbs connected with Pearson for a 16-yard touchdown to start the second quarter. Pearson's two touchdown catches mark the third multi-touchdown game for a Vol wide receiver this year (also, Marquez North vs. Arkansas State on Sept. 6 and Johnathon Johnson vs. Chattanooga on Oct. 11).
- #25 Aaron Medley made a 38-yard field goal attempt in the second quarter. He later made his 21-yard field goal attempt to end the first half.
- #11 Joshua Dobbs ran for an 9-yard touchdown in the second quarter. In his three starts this year, Dobbs has rushed for four touchdowns.
- To begin the third quarter, Dobbs connected with #18 Jason Croom for a 52-yard touchdown pass. The reception marked a career long pass for Dobbs and Croom, as well as their longest since a 43-yard completion last year against Kentucky.
- #25 Aaron Medley made a 39-yard field goal attempt in the third quarter, giving his Vols a 43-16 lead. With the successful attempt, he tied his career-high with three field goals made in a game. On the season, Medley has made 16 of his 22 field goal attempts and has made at least one field goal in each of his 10 games at Tennessee. Additionally, he is 15-of-16 in field goal attempts of 40 yards or less, with his only missed attempt coming on Sept. 6 vs. Arkansas State (35 yards).
- #1 Jalen Hurd rushed for a four-yard touchdown in the third quarter, his third rushing touchdown of the year and first inside Neyland Stadium since Sept. 6 vs. Arkansas State.
- #25 Aaron Medley made five of his six PATs, moving to 32-of-33 on the season. With a missed attempt following Pearson's second touchdown reception in the second quarter, Medley's streak of 29-straight successful PATs ended.
DEFENSE
JOHNSON LEAVING HIS MARK
- With five tackles against Kentucky, #45 A.J. Johnson became the first Vol to lead the team with 100-plus tackles for three straight seasons since Andy Spiva (1974-76). Johnson now has 101 total tackles in 2014. His 79 career assisted tackles now move him past Carl Johnson (1972) on the all-time list for assisted tackles in a single season.
DEFENSIVELY SPEAKING
- As a defense, the Vols held the Wildcats to 3-of-14 on third down conversions.
- #56 Curt Maggitt recorded his seventh sack of the season on Kentucky's quarterback #14 Patrick Towles in the first quarter. With seven sacks on the year, Maggitt ranks second on the team behind freshman #9 Derek Barnett (9).
- #37 Brian Randolph intercepted Kentucky quarterback Towles' pass in the first quarter and returned it 23 yards for a touchdown, his first interception of the year and the fifth of his career. The 23 yard return ties for the second-longest interception return by Tennessee in 2014 (also, A.J. Johnson on Aug. 31 vs. Utah State).
- Randolph's interception return for a touchdown marked the Vols' first defensive touchdown since an 18-yard interception return by Jacques Smith against Auburn on Nov. 9, 2013.
- #9 Derek Barnett recorded two sacks and four tackles for loss against Kentucky. Barnett holds Vol freshman records for sacks (9) and TFLs (18) in a single season, while his 18 TFLs rank seventh for Tennessee all-time in single season TFLs. Entering the game against Kentucky, Barnett's 14 tackles for loss ranked second in the SEC.
- #27 Justin Coleman recorded his third interception of the year, fourth of his career, and returned it for 25 yards in the third quarter. The turnover put Tennessee on Kentucky's 24-yard line with less than two minutes left in the third quarter.
- #42 Chris Weatherd recorded a sack on Kentucky's #14 Patrick Towles, his third sack of the year.
SPECIAL TEAMS
PUNTS BY DARR
- #43 Matt Darr punted four times against Kentucky. On the season, Darr now has 23 punts inside the 20-yard line and eight inside the 10-yard line this season.
BERRY RETURNS
- #29 Evan Berry returned three kicks for a total of 91 yards against Kentucky, establishing career highs in number of returns and return yardage in a single game.
ODDS AND ENDS
KENTUCKY KICKS
- With a 54-yard successful field goal attempt to end the first half, Kentucky's #99 Austin MacGinnis established a school record field goal distance.
