RACE CENTRAL: SECRET CITY HEAD RACE

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Tennessee rowing will stay in nearby Oak Ridge to race in the Secret City Head Race on Melton Hill Lake.
The Lady Vols will race in four separate events with the novice team making their debut on the water in the Women's Novice 8+ beginning at 11:15 AM.
Following at 12 PM, the Big Orange will take to Melton Hill Lake for the first time this season as a Varsity Eight in official competition.
In the afternoon session, the Lady Vols will race in singles at 2:20 PM. To begin their season, the Lady Vols raced in singles at the Chattanooga Head Race, junior Katie King secured the gold medal slot followed by followed by sophomore Victoria Florence (:15), seniors Sarah McAuliffe (:0.8.5), Rachel Whitaker (:11.5), Allison Toth (:13) and Kaitlan Aries (2:42).
To close out the day of racing, UT will race in women's pairs at 2:40 PM. In Chattanooga, the Big Orange dominated sweeping the top six spots with Courtney Crossley and McDarragh Minnock taking home the gold medal with Kiersten Luginbill and Emily Thomson, Kaitlyn Wallace and Bridget Boland, Whitney Wolfe and Hannah Waddell,Natalie Tavares and Morgan Suffridge and Chandler Frumin and Aja List taking second through sixth, respectively.
