UT Dominates At Chattanooga Head Race

2014 Chattanooga Head Race Results
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - The Tennessee rowing team began the 2014-15 campaign with a strong outing at the Chattanooga Head Race, taking home nine medals in all.
"Great, great work on the part of our team this week," Tennessee head coach Lisa Glenn said. "They handled race week exceptionally well," "Now it is time to refocus in on the important next steps for our team."
Junior Katie King secured the gold medal slot in the women's championship 1X to begin the racing season for the Lady Vols, followed by sophomore Victoria Florence (:15), seniors Sarah McAuliffe (:0.8.5), Rachel Whitaker (:11.5), Allison Toth (:13) and Kaitlan Aries (2:42).
In the collegiate pair event, UT swept the top six spots with Courtney Crossley and McDarragh Minnock taking home the gold medal with Kiersten Luginbill and Emily Thomson, Kaitlyn Wallace and Bridget Boland, Whitney Wolfe and Hannah Waddell, Natalie Tavares and Morgan Suffridge and Chandler Frumin and Aja List taking second through sixth, respectively.
Tennessee rounded out it's strong showing by finishing in the top-four places in the women's college four event. Junior Harper Lucas led McAuliffe, Thomson, Florence and Minnock to a gold medal finish, completing the race course in 18 minutes and 9.8 seconds.
Tennessee is set to return to Knoxville to prepare for their next competition, the Secret City Head Race in nearby Oak Ridge on October 25.
