CSULA Twilight Open Cancelled

LOS ANGELES - Due to the complete closure and evacuation of the Cal State L.A. campus at 3 p.m. ET on Thursday for precautionary measures, the CSULA Twilight Open track & field meet in Los Angeles, Calif., has been cancelled.
In the area for a series of four meets in three days, the Vol and Lady Vol throwers were able to compete in the morning's hammer competition, but were instructed to evacuate campus at noon PT.
On the men's side, Vols Drew Thomas and Cameron Brown both recorded personal records in the hammer throw before the meet was called off. Thomas finished as the runner-up with a mark of 189-feet, 6-inches (57.76m), while Brown placed third with a toss of 185-8 (56.60m). Sophomore Deon McAdoo placed fifth (176-10/53.90m).
Senior Lady Vol Jessie Harrison finished with a mark of 165-2 (50.35m) in the women's competition.
The group of 10 will be back in action on Friday, competing at both the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif., and the SOKA Peace Invitational in La Jolla, Calif.
