Popson Tabbed Player To Watch
September 05, 2012 | Women's Golf
Popson is one of three SEC golfers in the top 10, and is second overall in the league.
After battling a wrist injury last fall, Popson underwent surgery and recovered to win her fifth career title in the spring.
"Erica is a great player and has been one of the best in college golf her first three years," head coach Judi Pavon said. "She has resolved the injury that plagued her during that time and I'm looking forward to seeing a healthy Erica Popson compete this season to see what she can do."
This past summer, Popson competed as a member of the USA Curtis Cup Team, and captured the Pure Silk Women's Championship title with UT teammate AJ Newell.
"She is very tough mentally and is a great ball striker and putter, and she knows how to win. I think those are attributes that set her apart." Pavon said.
The Davenport, Fla., native is a three-time All-America honoree and has earned All-SEC first-team accolades twice during her collegiate career.
