Mauney Finishes 17th on Platform

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Senior Jordan Mauney finished 17th in the platform event Thursday at the AT&T National Diving Championship.
In the afternoon semifinals, Mauney improved his score by nearly 30 points from his preliminary performance. He moved up one spot in the standings with a six-dive score of 323.30.
Toby Stanley led the divers in both rounds, scoring a 481.35.
Mauney earned the 18th and final qualifying spot in the morning preliminaries to advance to the semifinals with a 294.00.
"He slithered into the semifinals by the skin of his teeth," Tennessee diving coach Dave Parrington said. "He had a solid afternoon. In all, his setups were good but he couldn't quite follow through on his finishes."
