UT-Memphis Post-Game Notes
- The Vols are now 14-8 all-time against Memphis, including a 4-2 mark under Bruce Pearl. UT has won consecutive games against the Tigers for the third separate time in the series.
- Tennessee is now 3-0 against teams ranked in the AP top 25 poll. The last time the Vols defeated the first three teams ranked in the AP top 25 on their schedule was in the 1999-00 season when they defeated No. 21 LSU, No. 9 Florida and No. 7 Auburn in January 2000.
- UT's 104-84 win over Memphis is its largest over a ranked opponent since defeating No. 16 Vanderbilt, 80-60, on Jan. 17, 2008. The win over Memphis was also UT's largest over its in-state rival since beating the Tigers 72-51 in the first game of the series, 12/28/1969.
- The Vols' 104 points is their most this season and highest total since scoring 99 against North Carolina A&T, 12/23/2009. UT topped the century mark for the first time since scoring 105 vs. East Carolina, 11/20/2009.
- Under Bruce Pearl, the Vols are 25-16 against opponents ranked in the AP top 25.
- After a 19-4 Memphis run, including 12 unanswered points, cut UT's lead to 49-39, the Vols responded with an 8-0 run that snowballed into a 26-4 spurt over a seven minute span. The run was highlighted by six consecutive three-pointers without a miss.
- Tennessee held its largest lead of the season (36) at 91-55.
- UT totaled season-bests in field goals made (36), three-point field goals made (12), assists (25) and blocked shots (8).
- The Vols used a season-high 16 players tonight.
- Freshman forward Tobias Harris pulled down a career-high 13 rebounds, which ties Brian Williams' two efforts as the Vols' best individual rebounding mark of the season.
- Freshman point guard Trae Golden dished out a career and UT season-high eight assists. Golden also matched his career best with eight points.
- Senior point guard Melvin Goins connected on multiple three-pointers for the first time in his career, draining all four of his attempts. His four conversions tie a UT season-high. He also handed out five assists, reaching that mark for the fourth time this season. Goins notched multiple steals with two for the sixth time this year.
- Senior center Brian Williams got involved in the assist-fest, matching a career high with five. The veteran also matched a season-high with a pair of blocks.
- Junior guard Scotty Hopson scored 16 points, marking the fourth straight game in which he's reached that figure. Hopson has averaged 19 points over the last four games.
- Sophomore forward Jeronne Maymon led the bench with a career-high 10 points to go with four rebounds. His five field goals made were also a career best.
- Sophomore guard Skylar McBee registered two three-pointers en route to a season-high eight points.
