Three Former Vols Head to Pro Bowl

Three former Vols were named the NFL Pro Bowl in Honolulu, Hawaii, Feb. 10, 2008. Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten and Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth were named starters, while Indianapolis quarterback Peyton Manning was selected as a reserve.
Manning, the 2003 and 2004 National Football League Most Valuable Player, is making his eighth Pro Bowl appearance and seventh consecutive, tying NFL Hall of Famer Doug Atkins for the second most among former Vols. Reggie White made 13 appearances in his 15-year career. Manning is one of five Colts selected.
Through 14 games this season, Manning has completed 295 of 464 passes for 3,634 yards and 28 touchdowns with 14 interceptions. He is currently the NFL???s sixth-rated passer at 95.2, and is fourth in the NFL in touchdown passes behind Tom Brady of New England (45), Tony Romo of Dallas (35) and Ben Roethlisberger of Pittsburgh (29).
Witten was picked for his fourth consecutive all-star game. He is one of a franchise-record 11 Cowboys chosen, including seven starters. Witten leads has a career-high 88 catches for 1,068 yards, making him just the 13th tight end in league history to top 1,000 yards.
Haynesworth is making his first appearance and is one of three Titans. In his sixth season with Tennessee, Haynesworth ranks second on the team with six sacks in his 11 games played, including a three-sack performance against the Carolina Panthers on Nov. 4. Haynesworth has either led or tied for the team-high in total tackles three times this season, and led or tied the team-high in quarterback pressures five times. His 66 total tackles are already the second-highest season total in his career with two games remaining. The Titans are 8-3 in games in which Haynesworth has played this season.
